My First Thoughts on Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Parfum for Women
This modern Chypre fragrance with a fruity twist screams chic and seductive femininity. Immediately, the top note of cassis carries beautifully- with a quick punch through of fresh, floral rose and freesia. I will admit that, at first, I was a bit overpowered by the sweetness- but as soon as the warmth of the base notes settled in, I found the balance charming and sophisticated.
Like many designer fragrances, it was the base notes that carried this perfume for me. While the cassis remains throughout the day, and a touch of blackcurrant nectar, it was the scents of vanilla, patchouli, and earthy wood that really sunk into my skin.
The Eau de Parfum is easily on one spray per day, and I was impressed at how strong the smell was hours after application. At no point did I get that benzyl alcohol smell that is the downfall of so many lesser imitations. There is no Eau de Toilette version- just rich, opulent Eau de Parfum, which lends itself well to the earthy, musky, blond wood base.
My lasting impression of Giorgio Armani Si is that it makes elegance its very essence. I felt grown-up and girly at the same time wearing this scent, and the quality really did impress.
When Would I Wear This Perfume?
To me, this perfume gives me winter vibes. Floral fruitiness might seem an obvious choice for spring or summer, but I think the underlying warmth makes it perfect for those fresher days. It goes from day to night time pretty well. I would personally only use a very small amount for wear during the day, as it can be quite powerful for those first couple of hours.
It certainly checks all my boxes as a fragrance for special occasions. The fragrance oozes sensuality, class, and feminine charm- something I look for in all my favorite perfumes and colognes. I view it as the perfect choice for a fall evening out with friends or a cozy winter night with someone special.
